Five Famous Antique Rings Worn by Celebs
Antique rings have become a more popular option for those looking to tie the knot over the last few years, with more brides looking to stand out from the crowd.
The intricate and distinctive rings are not only beautiful but are also truly unique and guarantee a style that nobody else will have.
And it looks like celebrities have fallen in love with antique rings just as much as the rest of us!
Here are five of our favourite antique celebrity engagement rings:
Catherine Zeta-Jones
Michael Douglas certainly picked a great date when he popped the question to Catherine Zeta-Jones on December 31st, 1999, the eve of the millennium, but he also picked a great ring!
Zeta-Jones ring is a 1920s piece designed by designer Fred Leighton, and features a huge 10-carat marquise diamond surrounded by 28 smaller stones and is a truly elegant piece.
And it certainly wasnt cheap either, setting Douglas back a reported 670,000.
Scarlett Johansson
Scarlett Johanssons hubby, French journalist Romain Dauriac also decided to go with an Art Deco ring for his engagement to the actress.
Johansson debuted the vintage piece at the Venice Film festival in 2013 and blew audiences away with its one large centrepiece diamond flanked by two slightly smaller ones.
These three round bezel set stones are then surrounded by multiple other smaller ones, all set in a long rectangular white gold/platinum setting and band.
Miley Cyrus
While this ring may have spent the last few years in the back of a drawer in the Cyrus household, the ex-Disney star has recently been spotted wearing this antique style ring, suggesting her engagement with Liam Hemsworth is back on.
The ring itself is a custom designed piece featuring a 19th century 3.5-carat cushion cut diamond and a floral motif.
While the ring itself isnt necessarily an antique, we love how Miley has taken an antique stone and incorporated it into a contemporary design.
Penlope Cruz
Javier Bardem proposed to his fellow Spaniard with a stunning antique ring featuring an oval 3-carat sapphire surrounded by a halo of diamonds framed to give the effect of flower petals.
The ring is apparently worth almost 21,000 and while it may not be the most flamboyant of celebrity rings we love it as a great example of vintage style.
Milla Jovovich
The Resident Evil stars antique engagement ring is one of our favourites, dating all the way back to the 19th century!
Her director and husband Paul W. S. Anderson proposed in 2009 with the ring, which features pale pink, yellow and white diamonds arranged in a distinctive vertical design by Neil Lane.
While we love this ring, apparently it was too clunky for Millas action packed roles and she had to downgrade to a smaller one!
