Dearest Jewellery

The Victorians often hid messages of love and adoration within their jewellery, creating pieces which spelt out a word with the first letter of all of the gemstones contained within. 

Diamond, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire and Topaz spelt "DEAREST",  and this dearest jewellery acted as an expression of deep and abiding affection to be held in secret by the object of that affection. Dearest jewellery wasn't limited to a specific style. It could be incorporated into various pieces like rings, necklaces, or bracelets. The focus was on the hidden message conveyed by the gemstones.
