Regard Jewellery

In Victorian society it was not always possible to give voice to feelings of love and friendship, so jewellers crafted jewellery which spelt out messages in the first letter of the gemstones contained within. Pieces set with Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby and Diamond carried the message "REGARD", showing that the person giving the gift held the recipient in high regard.
