Gemstone Certification
Appraisal and Valuation
At Laurelle Antique Jewellery we know that buying a quality piece of antique jewellery is a big decision, and an investment for the future. That’s why our team of experts personally evaluate every piece we find to ensure that they are authentic historic pieces made from the finest materials.
If you require a written valuation, we can provide this free of charge. We can also provide a recommendation on the amount for which the item should be insured.
Whilst this is sufficient for insurance purposes, we know that for some of our pieces you’ll want a little extra assurance in the form of jewellery certification.
Certification
On request Laurelle Antique Jewellery can provide independent certification from trusted third party organisations to give you extra peace of mind.
We have partnered with two of the UK’s premium gemological service providers: European Diamond and Gemstone Reports and the Birmingham Assay Office.
Both providers are UK-based laboratories who provide detailed certification on diamonds and other precious gemstones. Their team of highly qualified gemmologists are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and use the most accurate methods to ensure that the stones they test are correctly identified as natural, ensuring that your jewellery is properly certified.
Having a gemstone certified adds real value to your investment, as well as providing a great deal more information on the stones.
EDR and the BAO provide additional information on the central stone in solitaire rings, including an assessment of colour, cut and clarity, as well as the carat weight of the stone. The diamond report also comes with a digital image of the stone as part of your jewellery certification.
We can arrange for full certification on most items on request.
