Details
A magnificent antique Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring, dating to the early 1900s, beautifully crafted in solid 18ct yellow gold. This exceptional five-stone ring features an elegant carved half-hoop gallery, showcasing a regal alternating arrangement of deep blue cushion-cut sapphires and sparkling old European cut diamonds.
At the centre sits a striking 0.60ct sapphire, flanked by two matching 0.30ct stones (approx. 1.20ct total). Their deep royal-blue tones are beautifully contrasted by the diamonds, each weighing approx. 0.25ct (0.50ct total) and displaying excellent VS1 clarity and H colour, offering exceptional brilliance and fire.
Traditionally, these five gemstones symbolised protection, eternity, and loyalty, often interpreted as the five pillars of a lasting relationship. Rings of this style were especially cherished during the Victorian and Edwardian periods as meaningful promise rings, engagement rings, and sentimental gifts.
Elegant, romantic and steeped in history, this exquisite Edwardian five-stone sapphire and diamond ring has endured for more than a century and now awaits the beginning of its next chapter.
