A grand antique Victorian curb bracelet, consisting of chunky 9ct gold curb links, held by a safety chain and heart padlock clasp. Each link has developed a lovely rosy-gold patina with age and features 9ct stamps on the reverse, with intricate floral engraving across the top and foliate artistry chased across both sides of the padlock.
The Victorians cherished romance, and heart padlocks were a popular love token, symbolising a couple’s strong love, trust, and commitment to one another. They also served as a heartfelt reminder during periods of separation that the departed’s heart would always remain with the wearer.
The perfect embodiment of enduring love, this beautiful Victorian curb bracelet has been beautifully preserved and cherished over the centuries. It dates to the late 19th Century and would make the perfect antique gift for the one you share your heart with.
