This magnificent antique Victorian locket and collar is crafted in silver with ornate floral engraving across the front, including depictions of ivy and forget-me-nots, embellished with yellow and rose gold. Both the locket and chunky book-link collar feature fabulous, scalloped borders and the large locket is suspended from a spring ring clasp and contains rims and windows inside, ready to house two cherished photos of loved ones.
Forget-me nots symbolise love, faithfulness and remembrance and were a popular motif on Victorian lockets, often paired with ivy which similarly represented an unbreakable bond, as in the Victorian rhyme; “Close clings the ivy to the tree, so in my heart I cling to thee”.
