Details
This stylish antique Albert bracelet has been converted from an old Edwardian Albert chain and consists of graduated gold curb links, each stamped “375/ 9ct” to verify its quality. It’s complete with its original T-Bar and one claw clasp, both complete with Birmingham hallmarks and the maker’s mark “WG&S”.
Albert chains were both a fashionable and practical accessory for a gentleman in the 19th – 20th Century, often adorned with a pocket watch or fob and secured to the buttonhole of a waistcoat for quick access. Today they’re also worn as versatile and stylish necklaces or bracelets; a custom started by the wives of soldiers during WW1 who wore the chains as a keepsake.
As popular today as it was in the early 20th Century, this timeless Edwardian Albert chain bracelet is perfect to add some antique charm to your everyday style and has a good weight and a pleasing rosy-gold glow that has developed over time.
We recommend you insure for £2,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
