A magnificent pair of antique Edwardian drop earrings adorned with two large oval cut amethysts weighing an impressive 7.5 carats each (approx.) They have a luxurious deep purple hue and are complemented beautifully by two bright old European cut diamonds above, weighing approx. 0.20ct each – 0.80ct total.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
The pair are modelled in 18ct gold with open crown settings for the stones and butterfly stud backs at the top. They’re a regal pair, in pristine condition and perfect for a glamorous occasion.
