A sweet antique Edwardian bracelet, made in Chester in 1908. The piece is decorated with alternating pink tourmalines and green peridots with 9ct gold trombone links in between, with a gold loop through the middle. It’s held by a safety chain and a heart padlock at the end, complete with hallmarks and a “W’ emblem on the back and has been fused closed so it can’t be removed.

Heart padlocks were a popular love token in the Victorian/ Edwardian eras and were often gifted to a loved one during a long period of separation. It was a symbol of the couple’s strong love and commitment to one another, reminding the recipient that they may be gone, but their heart will always stay with them.

This is a fabulous Edwardian bracelet from the early 20^th Century, with a wonderful, romantic past. It would make the perfect gift for a loved one and displays a beautiful collection of complementary gemstones.
