This beautiful Antique Edwardian lavaliere necklace has been commissioned in Silver and set with an array of coloured Paste stones. The larger Paste stones weigh approx. 1.75ct each and are purple, with the smaller stones being white and green, which together make up the Suffragette colours.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The necklace features ornate Silver links in which the stones are set and a pendant at the front in the form of ribbons. It is a gorgeous piece held securely around the neck with a box clasp.
