This fabulous antique Suffragette Pendant was made Circa 1910. It is adorned with Pearls, a central peridot and an Amethyst dropper.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery was chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking! Green is for give, white is for women and violet is for votes.
The piece is a wonderful design with beautiful swirling, foliate motifs set in 9ct Yellow Gold which has turned a lovely rosy hue with age. It is hallmarked 9ct on the reverse.
