Product Details
A colourful antique Suffragette ring from the early 1900s decorated with two green peridots, three violet amethysts and four white diamonds that graduate in size across a scalloped, marquise face.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase “Give Women Votes!”
The ring is all solid 9ct gold with a fancy diamond pattern running down the sides. It’s a wonderful piece of history and the contrasting stones look beautiful spread out across the finger.
