An exquisite French lavaliere necklace from the mid 19th Century. The piece is made up of ornate Sterling Silver links decorated with glistening old cut Paste stones with blue Enamel highlights.
Paste is a transparent flint glass that is cut to simulate the beauty of gemstones. White Pastes sparkle just like Diamonds and take expert craftsmanship to capture their beauty.
The fabulous double drop pendant is also decorated with Pastes and is a lovely foliate design with a bouquet of Silver flowers overlaid on a blue Enamel setting.
The necklace is finished with a decorative box clasp complete with French hallmarks. It is truly remarkable and showcases the beauty and stunning workmanship of the time.
