This vintage amethyst ring is a remarkable Georgian cluster ring adorned with a regal oval cut amethyst in the centre with a soft violet hue. It weighs approx. 4.5ct and is framed by a double ring of twinkling old rose-cut diamonds, totalling approx. 0.85ct.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and the stone of Saint Valentine. Its deep purple-violet hue has been a favourite of royalty throughout history and contrasts beautifully with the bright, scintillating sparkle of diamonds, which together symbolise romance, love and loyalty.
The gallery of this vintage amethyst ring dates to the early 19th Century and is fashioned in 18ct gold with an ornately engraved band at the back that may have been added over time.
