A sweet pair of antique Georgian amethyst heart earrings, adorned with two cabochon amethyst hearts, with a glossy, gelatinous appearance and deep-purple hue. They weigh approx. 4ct each and are held in silver/ 18ct gold settings, with five twinkling rose cut diamonds at the top and bottom and hook wires above, set with three additional diamonds (approx. 0.40ct total).
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep purple/ violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
These are a fabulous pair of Georgian drop earrings from the early 19th Century. They’ve remained in excellent condition and the amethyst hearts look beautiful swinging from each ear.
