A wonderful antique cut steel collar and hair pin set beautifully preserved from the late Georgian era. The collar consists of glittering butterfly links with three droppers at the bottom and a box clasp at the top. 

The matching hair pin is also topped with a butterfly which sits on a hinge with two long pins stretching out from the bottom. All are decorated with faceted cut-steel studs that glitter beautifully when they catch the light.   

Cut-steel jewellery was at the height of its popularity in the 18^th and 19^th Century and was desired for its abundance of faceted steel studs, cut and polished to simulate the sparkle of gemstones.

It’s rare to find a matching Georgian set and in such excellent condition. They’re very well made and look beautiful worn together.
