Product Details
An exquisite antique Georgian diamond cross, lined with seventeen glittering rose cut diamonds that graduate in size toward the centre (approx. 1.4ct total). The stones are held in silver collet settings and sit atop an 18ct gold base, painted with a royal blue enamel across the front.
The rose cut has been around since the 16th Century and is recognised for its domed shape and neat triangular facets that are cut to resemble the petals of a rosebud. They were at the height of popularity in the Georgian era and were beloved for their enchanting sparkle that was said to dance by candlelight.
This is an exceptional antique cross, beautifully preserved from the early 19th Century and is fitted with a loop and a pin at the back, so it can be worn as a pendant or a brooch depending on the occasion.
We recommend you insure for £2,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
