Details
This exquisite antique French lavaliere necklace dates from the early 19th century and features three magnificent miniature paintings held in ornate frames, decorated with foliate motifs and natural pearls.
The paintings appear to depict scenes from a story and show three women in colourful dresses sat in a beautiful country setting with flowers, trees, and a river behind. Two of the women are sat with their hand in a box, and the third is holding a dove. They display fine detailing and a wonderful palate of natural colours, hand-painted by a true master of the art.
The miniatures are suspended from three chains that hang as festoons. They’re fashioned in silver and gilded in 18ct gold along with the frames and clasp.
It's remained in pristine condition throughout the centuries and looks wonderful draped around the neck.
