A delightful antique Georgian Giardinetti pendant from the early 19th Century, depicting a beautiful basket of flowers decorated with pink rubies, blue sapphires, green emeralds, twinkling diamonds and natural pearls.
Giardinetti is Italian for “Little Gardens”. The style originated in Italy and became a popular love token across Europe in the 18th and 19th Century, depicting a basket or vase of flowers decorated with a colourful assortment of gems to enhance their beauty.
The basket has been intricately woven from 18ct gold wires, with silver/ gold flowers growing out of the top. It’s suspended from a chain, topped with a ruby-encrusted bow and loop. A pretty antique Georgian pendant, displaying exquisite workmanship and gorgeous natural gems.
