This beautiful antique 18ct Gold Mourning ring is Georgian Circa 1830.
The ring features a glass window in the centre displaying a loved ones hair with a halo of creamy Pearls surrounding it.
Pearls have been adored throughout history for their rich creamy tone that is lovely lustrous and natural. A true gift from Mother Nature.
The ring is solid 18ct Yellow Gold and has developed a lovely smoothness with age.
The ring is complete with hallmarks and inscribed ‘In Memoriam - .M. Innes - Dec 6th - 1890’, which will be the date they passed away.
Mourning jewellery mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it. It was a souvenir to remember a loved one or a reminder to the living of the inevitability of death.
