This genuine Georgian pendant locket boasts lovely rich pink Paste Stones and fresh water Pearls.
This is a rare Georgian design, Circa 1800.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old, spanning many fashions that are reflected in these stunning pieces of jewellery.
The pendant is set in Sterling Silver with a beautiful leaf design and superb workmanship throughout.
A large pink Paste Stone sits in the centre of the gallery which is over 30ct and surrounded by Pearls and smaller Pastes.
Old Cut Paste stones sparkle just like Diamonds, captivating the allure of natures beauty.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass Pastes.
Pearls have a wonderful lustre with a rich creamy tone, they are lovely lustrous and natural.
The locket opens on the reverse so a photograph of someone special can be inserted.
This is a fabulous piece of Georgian craftsmanship from its time.
Purchased in London and steeped in English history.
