These fabulous antique Victorian Scottish drop earrings are Circa 1860.
Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.
The wonderful long earrings are adorned with beautiful dark green Jasper stones and bright orange Cornelian stones.
Jasper is a stone grounded in nature with a wonderful rich speckled texture that comes in a variety of different earthy colours, from dark green to sandy orange.
Carnelian stones were once known as ‘the setting sun’ by ancient Egyptians due to the stones deep orange colouring. The stone has been worn throughout history as a symbol of leadership, providing the courage needed in life.
All set in beautifully engraved Silver drop galleries and fitted with shepherd hook wires.
The earrings are steeped in Victorian history and look beautiful when worn, very eye catching.
