A grand antique Victorian curb bracelet made up of chunky 9ct gold links that have developed a lovely golden-bronze patina with age. The smallest links have been engraved with textured patterning across the top and contrast beautifully against four larger links in between.
It’s all held by a safety chain and heart padlock clasp which were often gifted by Victorian gentlemen to their loved ones during long periods of separation, as a symbol of the couple’s strong commitment to one another.
It’s a wonderful design, in excellent condition and bears 9ct stamps on each link and the maker’s mark on the back of the padlock, indicating it was made in Birmingham by W.H. Wilmot Ltd in the late 1800s.
