A grand antique Victorian gate bracelet from the late 19th Century fashioned entirely in 9ct gold. The wide band consists of curved gate links etched with textured patterning across the centre and are held by a safety chain and heart padlock clasp, complete with 9ct stamps and the maker’s initials on the back.
Heart padlocks were often gifted by Victorian gentleman to their loved ones during long periods of separation. It was a symbol of the couple’s strong love and commitment to one another, reminding the recipient that they may be gone, but their heart will always be with them.
It has a good weight and pleasing patina and would make a special gift for the one you love most.
