Product Details
A romantic antique Victorian acrostic ring from the late 1800s featuring a colourful collection of cabochon gemstones, including Lapis Lazuli, Opal, Vesuvianite and Emerald which form the acronym “Love”.
Acrostic jewellery was at the height of popularity during the Victorian era and was used to express a secret, romantic message to a loved one spelt out in gemstones during a time when there were strict rules and restrictions laid out by parents during a couple’s courtship.
The stones are claw set in a sleek 18ct gold gallery with clear Birmingham hallmarks within the band, dating it to 1892. It would make a wonderful gift with a romantic and private reminder of the love you share for one another.
