Details
This classic antique Victorian Albert chain bracelet consists of fancy cable links and larger interlocked fetter links, with scalloped edges and ornate engraving down the sides. It’s been converted into a bracelet from a silver Victorian Albert chain and paired with a matching Victorian heart padlock clasp, featuring beautiful floral engraving on both sides and a small round locket containing a lock of preserved brown hair.
Heart padlocks were a popular token of love during the Victorian era, symbolising a couple’s strong love, trust and enduring commitment to one another. The lock of hair and depictions of forget-me-nots also signify eternal love and faithfulness and were common on 19th Century mourning pieces made in commemoration of deceased loved ones.
This beautifully preserved Victorian padlock bracelet is a timeless design, bringing together two well-matched Victorian treasures to create one wonderful piece that stands as a testament of enduring love. Perfect for Victorian jewellery collector’s or those who wish to continue its story of romance.
