An elegant antique Victorian amethyst dropper necklace, adorned with thirteen oval cut amethyst droppers, displaying a luxurious deep-violet hue. The stones graduate in size from 1 -3 carats (approx. 26ct total) and are claw set in ornate 15ct gold frames, suspended from a fine cable chain and tube clasp.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep violet colouring has been highly esteemed throughout history, adorning regal jewellery all around the world, from ancient Egypt to the British crown jewels.
This is a magnificent Victorian necklace from the late 19th Century. It’s all in excellent condition and showcases a beautiful collection of natural amethysts that looks wonderful draped around the neck.
