Details
A stunning antique Victorian teardrop pendant from the late 19th Century, adorned with a deep purple teardrop amethyst in the centre, weighing approx. 7 carats, framed by a dazzling collection of old cushion cut diamonds and lustrous pearls.
There are approx. 4.5ct of diamond in total and all have superb SI 1 clarity – H colour. They’re set in an 18ct yellow gold gallery which hangs from a platinum loop, also set with graduating diamonds, leading to a larger pearl underneath.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and the stone of Saint Valentine. Its deep purple-violet hue has been a favourite of royalty throughout history and contrasts beautifully with the bright, natural lustre of pearls, which together symbolise romance, love and loyalty.
This is a magnificent Victorian pendant, exhibiting a luxurious array of natural gems and is accompanied by a lovely antique pendant box to store it in, featuring a brown leatherette exterior and cream velvet interior, marked “Herbert Wolf Ltd” under the lid.
We recommend you insure for £8,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
