A magnificent antique Victorian amethyst statement ring, built around a large oval cut amethyst in the centre, weighing approx. 6.5 carats. It has a deep-lavender hue and is bezel set in a frame of bright natural seed pearls, with three twinkling old mine cut diamonds chasing down each shoulder (approx. 0.16ct total).
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and is considered a stone of protection, clarity and tranquillity. Its deep purple/ violet colouring has been a favourite of royalty throughout history and contrasts beautifully with the bright, natural lustre of pearls, which together exude elegance and sophistication.
This Victorian amethyst pearl ring dates to the late 19th Century and is modelled entirely in 9ct gold, with fine engraving around the under-gallery. It’s a grand statement piece that is sure to leave an impression.
