Product Details
An exquisite antique Victorian cross pendant lined with eight natural green Colombian emeralds along the bale and posts that are a combination of step, oval and round cuts, ranging from 0.20 – 0.45ct (approx. 2.3ct total).
The stones have been tested and certified as natural and are believed to be Colombian which are known for their superior quality and vivid saturation. This is all verified in a gem report that accompanies the piece.
Emerald is the birthstone of May. The Romans considered it to be the sacred stone of the goddess Venus and was said to preserve love and provide hope. Its natural green colouring also makes it a stone of springtime and is associated with eternal love and faithfulness.
The cross is modelled in 18ct gold and depicts two wooden posts with detailed bark engraving down the front, back and bale. It’s a rare antique find, all in excellent condition from the late 19th Century with a gorgeous array of natural emeralds on display.
We recommend you insure for £6,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
