Details
This sweet antique Victorian Sentiment brooch has been commissioned in 18ct gold to form the shape of a crescent moon. The moon is set with three pearls and has a flower in the centre set with a cabochon ruby, emerald, garnet, amethyst, ruby and an old mine cut diamond in the centre, forming the acronym “Regard”.
Sentiment jewellery was popular in the Victorian era and was used to express a secret romantic message to a loved one spelt out in gemstones. ‘REGARD’ forms part of the phrase “I highly regard you” meaning that your loved one holds you very close to their heart.
It’s remained in excellent condition from the late 19th Century and would make a wonderful gift for a loved one.
