This magnificent antique Gothic Revival ruby and diamond bracelet features six graduated lozenge-shaped panels crafted in silver with yellow gold on the reverse. It is encrusted with a dazzling array of hand-set, rose-cut diamonds totalling approx. 5 carats, with the largest stone, around 0.30ct, sitting proudly at the centre of the largest articulated panel. These glittering diamonds are beautifully contrasted by vibrant triangular pink-red rubies, totalling an estimated 3 carats, carefully arranged into delicate floral clusters that speak of romance, passion and eternal love.
Imagine the grand ballrooms and candlelit evenings this bracelet has witnessed. In its prime, a stylish lady would have worn this masterpiece to glittering social occasions, where the flicker of candlelight would dance beautifully across the antique faceted gems. While the design suggests craftsmanship from the mid-19th century, later French owl and swan import hallmarks stamped on the box clasp, hint that the bracelet travelled far and wide across European borders during its lifetime.
Beautifully preserved across the centuries, this rare ruby and diamond bracelet remains in excellent condition and is presented in a luxurious burgundy leatherette and velvet box with a gold border.
