Details
This grand antique Victorian diamond snake ring was made in Birmingham by the Coley Brothers in 1899. It depicts two entwined serpents, crowned with a bright old mine cut diamond on each head (approx. 0.10ct each) and is crafted in sunny 18ct yellow gold that has developed a lovely smoothness and patina over time.
Coiled snake rings were popularised as a token of love and devotion in the 19th Century after Prince Albert gifted the young Queen Victoria with a serpent ring during their courtship. The entwined heads symbolise eternity, and the two matching diamonds, named “Toi et Moi” (You and Me) also represent the union of two souls.
Continue its story of romance by gifting this romantic Victorian diamond snake ring to your beloved. It has remained in pristine condition over the centuries and looks wonderful wrapped around the finger, with clear hallmarks stamped twice within the band.
