A lovely pair of antique Etruscan revival drop earrings made in Portugal in the late 19th Century. They depict two dangling acorns fashioned in shining 15ct gold.
Etruscan revival jewellery was crafted in the mid 1800s when ancient Etruscan pieces were unearthed in tombs outside of Rome beginning a fascination with the style. Acorns were a popular motif and were believed to symbolise fertility and new life.
They’re in excellent condition and look wonderful dangling from each ear.
