A grand pair of antique Etruscan revival drop earrings from the mid-Victorian era. The pair are fashioned in 18ct gold and display ornate, Etruscan inspired metalwork consisting of a large, faceted hoop with a fringe of beading around the border, held by a knot in the centre and topped with a golden flower.
Etruscan revival pieces were crafted in the late 1800s after ancient Etruscan jewellery was unearthed in tombs outside of Rome, beginning a fascination with the style and giving birth to these beautiful pieces which were crafted in the same grand and elaborate fashion.
They’re a magnificent pair, a perfect example of Victorian opulence and look stunning dangling from each ear.
