An exquisite antique Etruscan revival pendant from the mid-Victorian era (Circa 1860) depicting an ornate sun with an icicle dropper below. A turquoise encrusted dome also bulges out of the centre and is crowned with a twinkling old mine cut diamond on top.
Etruscan revival pieces were crafted in the mid 1800s when ancient Etruscan jewellery was unearthed in tombs outside of Rome beginning a fascination with the style and giving birth to these beautiful pieces which were crafted in the same decorative fashion.
The pendant is all 18ct gold and is decorated with elaborate cannetille metalwork, with a concealed locket hidden at the back in which a lock of hair or small photograph can be inserted and treasured.
