Product Details
A pretty antique La Belle Epoque pendant/ brooch, adorned with a glistening blue round cut aquamarine bezel set in the centre (approx. 1.75ct), haloed by a floral wreath of leaves and four forget me nots, topped with twinkling rose cut diamonds (approx. 0.70ct). Four creamy pearls also surround the centre stone, with a fifth dangling from a dropper at the bottom.
Aquamarines and Pearls were a popular combination in the 19th Century, with their soft white and blue colouring complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean. Forget me nots were also a popular motif and used to express eternal love and remembrance.
This is a beautiful Victorian piece from the turn of the 20th Century. It’s fashioned in silver and 15ct yellow gold, with a pin at the back and a fold-away loop so it can be worn as either a pendant or a brooch depending on the occasion.
We recommend you insure for £3,000. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
