Product Details
A classic antique Victorian locket and collar, beautifully preserved from the late 19th Century. The large sterling silver locket is chased with beautiful flowers, leaves, and an acorn on the front, all highlighted in high-carat yellow, green and rose gold. The sides are also engraved and a detailed floral bouquet is etched on the back, including depictions of forget me nots.
Forget me nots are a symbol of love and remembrance. They were a popular motif in the Victorian period and popularly featured on lockets containing images of loved ones as it signified, that they will never be forgotten and remain forever close to the wearer’s heart.
The chunky book-link collar is also fashioned in sterling silver and edged with silver beading and pyramid studs. The locket is attached by a large ring clasp from a dropper at the bottom and contains windows within, along with an original photograph of a lady in traditional Victorian attire who is wearing the locket and collar around her neck.
