Details
Dating to the late 19th Century, this grand antique Victorian gate bracelet has been expertly crafted in warm, sunlit 9ct yellow gold. Its intricate design features a romantic “X” motif, symbolising an endless exchange of kisses, beautifully interwoven with shimmering, textured brick links. The silky, articulated construction allows the bracelet to glide smoothly across the wrist, secured by a classic box clasp and safety chain at the end.
The piece is accompanied by its original leatherette and velvet-lined presentation box, proudly printed with the gold insignia of the legendary Reid & Sons - one of the most significant names in British jewellery history. Founded in 1778 in Newcastle, the firm held multiple Royal Warrants, which can be seen displayed in gold beneath the box lid: “To the Queen & Prince of Wales”, referring to Queen Victoria and the future King Edward VII.
Preserved in excellent condition, this rare Victorian gate bracelet is best worn as a striking standalone statement piece or elegantly stacked beside a delicate gold watch. An exceptional find for collectors, its golden circle of kisses also makes it a beautiful anniversary gift for a loved one - ready to continue its rich, romantic legacy.
