Details
Made in Edinburgh in 1896, this charming antique Victorian acrostic ring is crafted in 15ct yellow gold and set with a vibrant arrangement of natural gemstones, each chosen to convey a hidden message of affection. Amethyst, rose-cut Diamond, Opal, Ruby, and Emerald have been thoughtfully selected here, each gemstone contributing the first letter to spell out “ADORE”, with smaller diamonds and emeralds dotted in-between.
This enchanting piece was likely once treasured as a courtship ring and undoubtedly formed part of a beautiful love story. In an era when open declarations of love were often frowned upon in polite society, acrostic rings offered lovers a discreet yet deeply meaningful way to express their true feelings.
This sweet Victorian gold band ring has been beautifully preserved to this day and features detailed engraving down the sides and softly faded hallmarks within the band. It is now ready to begin its next romantic chapter, with its slender profile making it ideal to be stacked alongside a wedding set.
