Product Details
A magnificent antique Victorian Harlequin bracelet, adorned with a rainbow of multi-coloured gemstones that graduate in size from approx. 0.50 and 1.8ct. The stones alternate between topaz, quartz and sapphire and the most striking has to be the beautiful cabochon star sapphire, exhibiting an enchanting blue and white glow that morphs into a magical star in direct light.
Harlequin jewellery is named after the colourful costumes of the 16th century comedy actors of the same name. The style was popular during the 19th Century and saw wonderful pieces of jewellery abundantly decorated in coloured gemstones.
This chunky, articulated Victorian bracelet is fashioned in silver, gilded in 18ct yellow gold, with fine engraving around the sides. It dates to the late 19th Century and is held securely around the wrist by a box clasp, safety chain and catch.
We recommend you insure for £2,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
