A fabulous Antique Guard chain from the late Victorian era made up of faceted 9ct Gold links that articulate smoothly together and measure 57 inches in length.
Guard chains were very popular in the 19th Century and were usually adorned with a pocket watch or lorgnette and were long enough to be tucked into a belt.
It can be worn as one long chain as it was back in the day or even looped twice around the neck if preferred.
