This exquisite antique Victorian harlequin bracelet consists of fourteen multi-coloured gemstones in various cuts and sizes. Included are assorted amethyst, citrine, quartz, agate, carnelian, chrysoprase, tigers’ eye, topaz and two paste stones. They’re securely claw-set within 9ct yellow gold frames and held by a secure, concealed box clasp.
Harlequin jewellery takes its inspiration from the vibrant, patchwork costumes of the 16th-century Commedia dell’arte performers. The style became highly fashionable in the 19th century, celebrated for its playful yet luxurious use of multi-coloured gemstones.
Dating to the late 19th century, this wonderful Victorian harlequin bracelet is expertly made and in excellent condition, offering a lively rainbow of colourful gemstones that will add a fabulous pop of sparkle and colour to any outfit.
