Product Details
A wonderful antique Victorian moonstone pendant necklace featuring a long drop pendant consisting of three cabochon moonstones set in 15ct gold bezel settings with seed pearl chains connecting in between. The largest moonstones weigh approx. 5.5ct and are semi-transparent with a ghostly blue glow that shimmers across the surface.
The mystifying moonstone derives its name from the stone’s ethereal, luminescent light that was once believed to be moonlight in solid form. In Greek mythology they were associated with Selene, the feminine moon Goddess and said to be a path to love, wisdom and new beginnings.
The pendant dates to the late 19th Century and is in excellent condition. It’s a fabulous design and accompanied by a fine 9ct gold chain to display it on.
We recommend you insure for £2,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
