Born during the great British opal boom, championed by Queen Victoria in the late 19th Century, this mesmerising antique Victorian opal and diamond cluster ring is crafted in radiant 18ct yellow gold by A.A. & Co. The broad navette gallery is flanked by grooved shoulders and encrusted with seven natural cabochon opals (approx. 0.62ct) and eight chunky old mine cut diamonds (approx. 0.56ct) in a secure coronet setting that spreads beautifully across the top of the finger.
These luminous opals, flashing electric green, blue, pink, and orange, paired with the fiery sparkle of hand-cut diamonds, would have danced beautifully by candlelight during elegant evening soirées and intimate parlour gatherings of the late 19th century.
