This fabulous antique Victorian necklace is encrusted with sparkling Paste stones which look just like Diamonds. Circa 1900
The necklace boasts a beautiful large Paste pendant adorned with lovely detail.
The bale is set with a pretty little flower engraving.
Paste is a heavy, very transparent flint glass that stimulates the fire and brilliance of gemstones because it has relatively high indices of refraction and strong dispersion, the Romans in particular were very skilful in the production of coloured glass pastes.
Steeped in Victorian history.
