Details
This exquisite antique Edwardian paste pendant features a stunning garland-style design crafted in silver. At its heart sits a large, closed-back cushion-cut paste stone, glowing with a bright champagne warmth, framed by a wreath of vibrant lime-green pastes and sparkling clear stones that also chase down a graceful dropper at the bottom.
Paste gemstones are not merely imitations, they were a celebrated art form in the early 1900s, hand-cut by master lapidaries to outshine even natural gemstones in dim candlelight. The wreath motif here also symbolises eternal love, with the warm citrine-coloured centrepiece evoking feelings of warmth, joy and positivity.
This beautiful Edwardian paste pendant is in excellent condition and would look wonderful adorning a silver or gold chain once more. It’s highly collectable and showcases a delightful collection of bright, colourful glass gems.
