Dating to the late 19th Century, this beautifully preserved antique Victorian pearl star locket is fashioned in a warm 15ct yellow gold and features intricate engraving on both sides. The six-pointed star stands out from the front and is set with seven creamy natural pearls, bordered in blue enamel, and the back features a previous owner’s monogram.
Pearls are a true treasure of the ocean, symbolising grace, purity and loyalty. During the Victorian era, their luminous glow was also associated with the celestial and eternal beauty of the moon and stars and worn as a tribute to departed loved ones, a reminder that their light still endures, shining forever like a star in the night sky.
