Product Details
A glorious antique Victorian carved half hoop ring set with four royal blue sapphires (approx. 0.90ct total) with six twinkling old mine cut diamonds nestled in between (approx. 0.12ct total).
Sapphire is the birthstone of September. The blue variety is considered a stone of truth, wisdom and protection and has long been a favourite of kings and royalty, adored for its royal blue colouring which was considered a reflection of the sky and the heavens, making it divine.
The gallery is all 18ct gold with beautiful, scrolling artistry carved down the sides and an inscription within that reads: “A.E.M – J.A.A – 29/12/61”, possibly the date of an engagement or wedding.
It’s clearly been loved and adored over the centuries and is now looking for a new home so its story can continue.
We recommend you insure for £1,300. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
